Option 1

Liberal Arts

  • Take a minimum of 37 credits total. Minimum of three elective credits in art, maximum of fifteen elective credits in art.
  • ART 204, 205, 260, 307, 460

Professional

  • Take a minimum of 55 credits total.  Minimum of twenty-one elective credits in art; maximum of 30 elective credits in art.
  • ART 204, 205, 260, 307, 460

Art History

  • Take a minimum of 50 credits total 
  • ART 204, 205, 211, 234, 345, 354, 421 (for 2-6 credits), 460 (for 1-2 credits)
  • Six credits of any foreign language

Option 2

Art Teaching

  • Students seeking certification for teaching in Art (K-12) must complete the following courses in addition to the core requirements listed above
  • Take a minimum of 53 credits total
  • ART 204, 205, 211, 232, 307, 310, 315, 320, 325, 326, GDC 258
  • A total of six elective credits in art
  • All requirements listed under the catalog section Secondary Education

NOTEAll student majoring in Art must propose and develop a body of work to be exhibited in the Rall Gallery as either a solo or small group show.  Students with an emphasis in Art History may write a major research paper in lieu of the exhibition requirement.
