Additional requirements:

  1. All requirements listed under the catalog section Secondary Education
  2. Students seeking certification for teaching in social science must complete the following:
    1. HIS 105, 106, 205, 206, 220, 307, 321 (or 302), 496
    2. Two additional elective courses in history with at least one course from each of the areas of:
      1. American: HIS 302, 305, 306, 312, 320, 321, 329, 337, 352
      2. European: HIS 317, 318, 335, 341, 348, 350
      3. non-Western: HIS 302, 304, 326, 338, 342
    3. ECO 203 and 204, GEG 112 and 301, PSI 101 or 105, PSY 117, ANT 308, SOC 109.
    4. Three additional credits in each of the following areas: political science, psychology and sociology.
    5. SSI 322, 323, 324, 325.
    6. All requirements listed for Secondary Education.

 

NOTE: Students who have completed the Social Science Teaching Major have also completed the History Major.

  1. Students should meet with Dr. Linda Kalbach early in the fall term and should meet prior to preregistration each term.
