Requirements for the Graphic Design Major:

  1. Complete the following 28 credits: GDC 258, 260, 275, 303, 304, 330, 375, 403, 404, 460, 461

  1. Complete 6 elective credits from the following: ART 234, GDC 345 , GDC 360

  1. Complete the following cognates: ART 107, 110, 207

  1. Complete 6 credits from the following cognates: CMM 238, CMS 105, 321, 351

  1. Complete 3 credits from the following cognates: ART 204, 205, 352, 354, 450

  1. Complete an additional 12 credits in Art with a minimum 3 credits from the following courses: ART 307, 311, 314, 333, 334, 407, 414, and 435.

NOTES: 

  • All students majoring in Graphic Design must propose and develop a body of work to be exhibited in Rall Gallery as either a solo or small group show.

  • The following courses must be completed through the Fine Arts and Humanities Division at Doane’s College of Arts and Sciences: GDC 275, GDC 303, GDC 304, GDC 403, and GDC 404.

  • Recommended general study areas: communication, writing, psychology, sociology, anthropology, business, IST.
