ACC 104 - Managerial Accounting (3)

Prerequisite: ACC 103  with a minimum grade of C-.
An introduction to the use of accounting data by managers in directing the internal affairs of organizations.Topics include types of cost accounting systems, cost-volume-profit analysis, budgeting, decisionmaking and performance evaluation techniques. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Identify types of costs and their behavior
  • Employ cost accounting systems, such as job order, process and activity-based costing
  • Perform cost-volume-profit analysis
  • Use relevant cost data to make short-term and long-term decisions
  • Prepare various types of budgets and resulting variances
