ACC 104 - Managerial Accounting (3)Prerequisite: ACC 103 with a minimum grade of C-. An introduction to the use of accounting data by managers in directing the internal affairs of organizations.Topics include types of cost accounting systems, cost-volume-profit analysis, budgeting, decisionmaking and performance evaluation techniques. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify types of costs and their behavior
- Employ cost accounting systems, such as job order, process and activity-based costing
- Perform cost-volume-profit analysis
- Use relevant cost data to make short-term and long-term decisions
- Prepare various types of budgets and resulting variances
