COE 622 - Counseling Practices (3) The purpose of this course is to assist students in skill development of basic counseling skills. Students will practice, develop and improve counseling skills in an environment of professional and constructive criticism. Students will learn and apply basic attending and listening sequence and develop skills for initial and intentional interviewing of clients. These skills serve as the basis for developing an individual counseling approach and theoretical application in practice.
