CMS 220 - Interpersonal Communication (3)

Exchanging messages with other people is a core activity of human life. This course will explore what leads people to send the verbal and non-verbal message they do, how people make sense of the verbal and non-verbal messages they send and receive, and the effects messages and meanings have on those relationships. This course will explore communication in a variety of two-person relationships, including romantic relationships, friendships, family relationships, employer-employee relationships, and patient-provider relationships. Upon completing this course, students will be better able to use theory and practice to analyze and engage in more appropriate, effective, and productive interpersonal communication.
