DSS 110 - TRIO Effective Reading and Writing (3)

Prerequisite: DSS eligibility and course placement.
This course is designed to support foundational reading, writing, and critical thinking skills necessary for success in college-level coursework. Through intensive writing practice and individualized reading support, the course will emphasize analyzing arguments, applying active reading techniques to texts used in college courses, and writing essays related to readings that require advanced thinking skills. By the end of the course, TRIO SSS students will be better prepared to engage with academic texts, communicate ideas effectively, and transition into other college-level courses. Students must be in the TRIO SSS program to enroll.
