This course contributes to the transition from student of social studies to teacher of social studies. Its major emphasis is on developing competency in a) basic economics as it relates to economic decisions and impact within local, state, national and international levels, including marketplace operation, economic structure, role of government and personal finance. b) developing teaching strategies that tie the content to excellent middle level instruction.
