Grand Island, Lincoln, and Online

The Doane University RN to BSN program is designed for registered nurses with an associate’s degree or diploma in nursing who want to advance in the profession. The completion of a bachelor’s degree in nursing is the gateway to graduate-level education and advanced practice nursing roles.

The format and courses are tailored to meet the needs of the adult learner and to maximize strengths that the working RN possesses. Courses are taught by experts in their respective fields who share knowledge and experience in areas of the liberal arts as well as clinical patient care, healthcare management, and professional nursing practice and leadership. Opportunities are provided to apply concepts, theories, and research in the RN’s clinical practice. Both the science and art of nursing are integral components of the program and are woven throughout. Graduates of the program are prepared to become leaders in the nursing profession.

Applicants to the program must have a current, active unrestricted RN license in the United States prior to admission to the Doane University RN to BSN program.

To meet graduation requirements, students enrolled in the RN to BSN program must complete both the general requirements  and additional requirements  listed.

Mission Statement

Doane University’s Nursing Program mission is to provide an exceptional liberal arts education to inspire registered nurses in the art, culture, and science of nursing practice to develop intellectual inquiry, personal values, professional engagement, and a commitment to serve as responsible leaders and interprofessional team members for advancing global health.
