The Social Studies major is a broadly based degree program for students wanting to teach secondary education and get a Social Studies Field Endorsement. This major meets the requirements for certification to teach economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, and sociology in grades 6-12.

HIS 220 - Introduction to Historical Methods (3)

HIS 496 - Writing and Research Seminar (3)
PSI 101 - American Politics (3) OR
PSI 105 - Comparative Governments (3)

Complete one additional History course from the following area:

World History:

HIS 304 - Military History (3)

HIS 353 - Modern World History (3)

Complete three additional credits in Economics, three additional credits in Psychology, and six additional credits in Political Science, for a total of 12 additional credits.
