Special Education Endorsement

Option 1 Special Education 7-12 (For certified teachers)
Option 2 Special Education K-6 (For certified teachers)

Required 27 credits for all SPED endorsement candidates:

Option 1: For the 7-12 Special Education endorsement, complete the following:

EDU 602 - Assessment for Learning (3)
EDU 663 - Reading and Writing in the Content Area (3)
EDS 680II - Practicum in Special Education (2-3)
To add this endorsement, elementary teachers must complete an additional practicum experience in secondary schools.

Option 2: For the K-6 Special Education endorsement, complete the following:

EDU 602 - Assessment for Learning (3) or
EDU 645 - Assessment of Literacy (3)
EDU 663 - Reading and Writing in the Content Area (3)
EDS 680I - Practicum in Special Education (2-3)
Secondary teachers who wish to add this endorsement must complete a reading, a writing, and a mathematics course for elementary students.
