Doctorate of Education

Doane’s Education Doctorate (Ed.D.) includes 57 hours of post-graduate level coursework seminars and stand-alone courses, culminating in a dissertation or three peer-reviewed journal articles.  The core 30 hours of Ed.D. coursework will be delivered sequentially in a Cadre format, similar to the Education Specialist Program. It is recommended that the 27 post-Masters’ specialization courses be completed prior to beginning core classes, but in special situations, arrangements may be made for this course work to be taken while completing doctoral core courses. Elective coursework cannot be counted if taken before the completion of the original MA/MS degree.

Community & Culture Certificate: 21 credit hours

Effective April 1, 2026, the Community and Culture Certificate is suspended. The University is not accepting new applicants for this program. Students currently enrolled in the program will be able to complete their studies.
