English, Writing Advising Guide

Additional requirements: 

1. ENG 485 (3 credits)

2. ENG 301, 318, 330, or 340 (3 credits)

3. ENG 308, 342, or 362 (3 credits)

4. ENG 102, 113, or 311 (3 credits) 

5. At least 6 additional credits in English (excluding ENG 100, 101, and 326)

Recommended courses:

1. Students interested in poetry are recommended to take ENG 202, 316, 496.
2. Students interested in fiction are recommended to take ENG 238, 312, 497.
3. Students interested in creative non-fiction are recommended to take ENG 285, 312, 485.
4. Activities - Xanadu and Owl

Special Notes:

1. First year and second year generally take at least one writing or literature course each term.
2. Third year take at least 2 of the five required courses each term or other advanced courses where scheduling warrants.
3. Fourth year complete all other required courses in the fall term.
