GEG 320 - Geography of Agriculture (3) An examination of the people, patterns, processes and places involved in agricultural activity within the United States and around the globe. Topics include exploration of agriculture as a fully integrated agroecosystem and the distribution of agricultural systems globally. This course examines the impact on crops and livestock of soil and water distribution, climate, and human activity. Topics related to trade and food security, such as availability, access, sustainability, and use, will be included. Upon successful completion of this course students will understand the history of the development of agriculture, the distribution and types of crops, livestock, and agricultural regions, as well as issues related to food availability.
