COE 635 - School Counseling and Special Populations (3) This course will help school counselors understand their role in working with special education and other special educational programs within the school system (504, SAT, RTI, etc.). Students will learn about the special education process, procedures, interventions and terminology. In addition, this course will cover the behavioral and academic challenges associated with disabilities, understanding disability categories, and understanding the legal and ethical issues surrounding special education.
