ACC 411 - Systems/Applied Accounting (3)

Prerequisite: ACC 232  with a C- or higher, or permission.
This course is a study of the fundamentals of the accounting information system and how it functions in the organization. Upon complete of this course, students will be able to:

  • Explain the purpose and importance of an accounting information system.
  • Identify and illustrate the collection and processing of accounting data in an accounting information system.
  • Describe why information technology is important to accounting and auditing.
  • Perform basic business processes using an accounting software package.
