AGR 305 - Agricultural Futures and Options (3) This course examines the role of agricultural futures and options in risk management strategies for producers and agribusiness firms and in the price discovery process. The focus is on fundamental supply-demand and technical analysis of markets and pricing processes as well as the development and applications of effective price risk management strategies. At the completion of this course, students will be able to: 1) apply economic principles to problems encountered in agribusiness, 2) utilize advanced tools to assist agribusinesses in managing risks, 3) use critical thinking and problem-solving skills when analyzing economic policy solutions to agriculture and food issues, and 4) demonstrate a practical understanding of the application of futures and options.
