HIS 348 - History of the Roman Empire (800 BCE‑‑ 476 CE) (3)Prerequisite: Sophomore standing or permission. Focus is on the rise of Roman civilization. Students who successfully complete this course will demonstrate knowledge of the cultural, military, political, and economic aspects of Roman civilization. Students also will gain a deeper understanding of the political transformation from the Roman Republic to the Roman Empire, as well as why this amazing civilization, which would serve as a model for so many future empires, eventually collapsed.
