Our coursework in management, leadership, organizational behavior, human resources, and strategy provides you with both the intellectual foundation and real-world skills to excel in managerial roles across any industry - from Fortune 500 companies to innovative startups.

Beyond key organizational and management competencies, you will customize your path by choosing an emphasis that aligns with your unique ambitions. With a management major, you will have the opportunity to focus on innovation and entrepreneurship, business analytics, or project management, where you will develop the expertise required in today’s complex business environment. Students who complete the B.A. in Management will be able to: 

  1. Exhibit general knowledge of theories and practices in the core areas of business.
  2. Critically analyze and apply knowledge across business disciplines to solve complex situations. 
  3. Demonstrate effective professional communication skills.
  4. Collaborate effectively in teams.
  5. Develop decisions informed by ethical values.
  6. Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of management knowledge.
  7. Apply management theory to execute an organizational project.

Students who complete an emphasis in Business Analytics will be able to: 

  1. Apply data visualization to a data set.

Students who complete an emphasis in Innovation & Entrepreneurship will be able to:

  1. Develop a startup pitch based on entrepreneurship methodologies. 

Students who complete an emphasis in Project Management will be able to:

  1. Develop project initiation and planning documents using project management fundamentals.

Accreditation

Doane’s Bachelor’s degree program in Management is currently not accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). New degree programs must be in effect for at least two years and have had graduates before accreditation will be granted.

Residency Requirement


BUS 496  & BUS 498  must be completed at Doane University and at least 6 credits at the 300/400 level in ACC, AGR, BUS, ECO, FIN, MGT, and MKT (excluding any Internship -421 courses).
