If you are passionate about improving healthcare organizations and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives, healthcare administration is where you belong. As a healthcare administration major, you will develop the expertise, strategic thinking, and specialized knowledge that healthcare organizations demand. Our application-oriented curriculum goes beyond theory - you will develop knowledge in healthcare policy, healthcare finance, strategic operations, and data-driven decision-making while learning to navigate the complex healthcare landscape with clarity and confidence. From healthcare justice and ethics to innovation and quality improvement, you will build the skills that prepare you to operate effectively in hospitals, clinics, insurance organizations, tech companies, and public health institutions. In addition, you will strengthen your analytical reasoning, sharpen your decision-making abilities, and learn to balance operational excellence with quality patient care.

Students who complete the B.A. in Healthcare Administration will be able to: 

  1. Exhibit general knowledge of theories and practices in the core areas of business. 
  2. Critically analyze and apply knowledge across business disciplines to solve complex situations. 
  3. Demonstrate effective professional communication skills.
  4. Collaborate effectively in teams.
  5. Develop decisions informed by ethical values.
  6. Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare knowledge. 
  7. Solve complex healthcare operational challenges with healthcare administration concepts.

Accreditation

Doane’s Bachelor’s degree program in Healthcare Administration is currently not accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). New degree programs must be in effect for at least two years and have had graduates before accreditation will be granted.
