Requirements for the Biology Major:
1. Complete the following
a. BIO 110, 111, 112, 202, 295, 351 (or CHM/EVS 351), BIO 495 (or CHM/RES/EVS 495 for 2 credits), BIO 496 (or CHM/RES/EVS 496 for 2 credits)
b. One course with a laboratory from each of the following elective groups:
1. Organismal Group: BIO 326, 332, 333
2. Molecular Group: BIO 335, 348, 356
c. Complete two additional BIO electives for a total of 4 elective courses. Electives can be additional courses from “b” not already taken and/or from among the following courses: BIO 308, 317, 331, 340, 345, 355. A maximum of 4 credits of Biology directed study may be counted toward the major.
d. Complete the following cognates:
1. CHM 125, 126
2. Two additional four-credit courses in Chemistry OR PHY 107 and 108 (or 201 and 202).
3. MTH 107 or 108 or above (MTH 235 is strongly recommended)
