EDC 427 - Methods for Young Children II (3)Prerequisites: Major in Elementary Education or Special Education, EDC 425 , or permission. A methods course building upon the foundations laid in EDC 201 and EDC 425 , focusing on effective instructional strategies and curriculum for young children (PreK-3). Students will be able to design developmentally appropriate instruction and materials using active learning strategies in the academic disciplines: language and literacy; the arts–music, creative movement, dance, drama, visual arts; mathematics; science; and physical activity. The students will also be able to effectively manage programs, observe, and conduct appropriate assessments and effectively use technology in Early Childhood settings. A field experience in an Early Childhood setting, preschool to third grade, is also required.
