ENG 301 - Stories of Gender and Sexuality (3) This course offers a comprehensive overview of voices that have historically been marginalized or neglected from the traditional literary canon. Students will explore works by women and queer writers from diverse periods and cultures, identifying the contributions of these writers and articulating the relevance of these works today. The course will examine issues of identity, visibility, and resistance in the context of ongoing discussions regarding diversity, societal norms, and intersectionality. Students will read a wide selection of works from a variety of genres, applying feminist and queer literary theories and ultimately crafting original arguments rooted in textual analysis and literary criticism.
