ENG 485 - Literary Journalism and Applied Narrative Knowledge (1-3)

Prerequisite: ENG 285  or permission.
This course builds on the introduction to creative nonfiction in ENG 285 , and provides field experience for storytellers and others with training in literary studies. The course will prepare students to change the way others think about stories and storytelling by exploring this question: why do stories matter beyond the page? Answers will take the form of a portfolio that connects the stories they tell on the page with contributions to a range of English Department service activities and outreach programs on campus and beyond.
