MUS 215 - Theory of Music III (3) The first half of the semester is a continuation of MUS 116, focusing on the study of chromatic harmonic concepts (tonicizations, modulations, augmented sixth chords, etc.) through 4-part chorale exercises and study of examples from the literature. The second half of the semester will consist of detailed analysis of Bach chorales. The student will learn to apply the theoretical concepts mastered in the previous theory classes to the chorales.
Prerequisite: MUS 116 or permission Co-requisite MUS 307 and MUS 215L . Offered fall term.
