ASN 210 - Japanese Cultures and Beliefs (3) This course examines aesthetic, social, religious, and political elements that shape modern Japanese culture and society. After tracing historical evolutions of Japanese culture through the study of texts, film, and art, the course analyzes constructions of culture and belief systems as they exist today. Not only will students be introduced to key religious traditions of Shinto and Buddhism, they will also encounter new religious movements that shape Japanese society today.
