EGR 225 - Probability and Statistics for Engineering and Physical Sciences (4) An introduction to probability theory and statistics with applications in the physical and
engineering sciences. Topics include random variables, distributions, confidence
intervals, propagation of error, hypothesis testing, and quality control including Six
Sigma principles. Completing this course will aid students in
- applying appropriate statistical methods to data sets to extract and interpret information,
- making informed judgments about system reliability, and
- developing statistical quality control systems
Prerequisites: CST 210 and MTH 235 . Offered fall term.
